If so, before you eat there again think about this artcle concerning an incident there.

Id like to hear what you personally think about it as well.

  1. yes i like it better more than mcdonals

  2. Arby's is the yuckiest place on the planet but I do have to admit they have really good shakes and chicken shakers. I threw up after eating a roast beaf sanwich

    a

  3. I do like to eat at Arby's. It is an occasional thing. I will still eat there, but that was wrong for them to turn the man and the pregnant women down.

  4. Thats sad.  Why are they having s*x and reproducing when they cant even take care of themselves.  Poor baby.  And to answer your question, no, I hate arbys food.

  5. i think Arbys has good food.  As for the article, if any business gave out food to anyone who asked, whether they be homeless or not, the business would lose money.  That is what shelters and soup kitchens are for.  If the man was able to work for food then he could have gotten a real job to support himself and his girl. He chose not to have a real job and beg for food instead. Bad decision on his part.

  6. I'm not a huge fan of Arby's food, but that article would not affect my decision either way at all. The manager could have been more kind to the people but other than that he really did nothing wrong. It is sad that those people are going through a rough time but the legal issues it would involve for the manager to let them work for 1 meal is too much of a risk.

  7. How sad, now I don't ever want to go back there, not even for the 5 for 5.45.

  8. Yes I do like Arbys and lets hope that they are not as rude as this one.

  9. I personally don't like there food

but i don't think you should judge the company as a whole

Because of the actions of one cold-hearted man.

They could have gone to any restaurant but it would all depend on the person in charge not the restaurant.

  10. That's a sad story and made me cry. I think that Arby's could have given them a sandwich, one that has been sitting around to long and ready to throw away. If I was the manager, I would have pulled the man and the pregnant woman aside to tell them to come back after hours so I could give them the food that they just throw away. Trust me, they throw alot of food away.

  11. that story is sad. but i lvoe arbys mozarella stick french fries and curly fries they have the best fast food fries. this story won't stop me fro meating there i don't live anywheres near tennessee and don't plan on going there anytime soon cause nothing is there and even if i did i wouldn't eat at arbys i'd eat at a local resteraunt

  12. Their curly fries are yummy. The rest of it sounds gross.

  13. I love eating at Arby's and as sad as that story is, there is so much bureaucratic red tape when dealing with people who work for you all the time people you have hired part time.  There is is no way that the Arby's manager could have legally let those two work for him without breaking some sort of rule.

True, he could have given them free food, but as a manager at a retail store I know how easy it is for people to take advantage of a business and I would not have given them free food either.

  14. I used to work at an Arbys, and we had things like that happen at the one where I worked at a few times. Sometimes the manager would be willing to help, other times not. If they were sober and didn't have bad body odor he would hook them up for doing a little cleaning. If they weren't sober and stank, he'd call the cops on them and have them taken

However, their's also a flip side to this. Last week one of my friends was eating at fuddruckers, and a drunk (read: inhebreated) person with a really bad attitude came into the joint and started going around to tables and helping herself to people's food, and when the employees at the restaraunt tried to get her to stop and offered her a free meal, she swore at them and turned violent. After that, they called the cops on her.

    Two sides to a coin.

  15. I don't like Arby's food anyway.

  16. I do eat at Arby's but I feel that they are way too expensive.  And their portions are extremely skimpy.  I think if they can charge more for their orders, they can at least give a portion equal to other fast food places, or bigger then other fast food places.  And I do agree with alot of the other people answering, that Arby's is selfish, and extremely self centered.

  17. I would put the manager on a 30 day suspension, change policy regarding obviously hungry people, in this day and time considering how hard everything is on everyone with the bad economy, a change should occur. And  this story should be aired on the news feed with someone like Larry King with him interviewing the owner of the company and his response to this story, and how he would treat hungary people.

  18. there is no arbys in my hood

  19. Honestly I'm not surprised. I use to work at arby's and I have to say it is probably the most selfish fastfood restaurant out there. We were all getting payed the minimum wage. Our food were the most expensive of the fastfood restaurants, and we still got $5 and change. I didn't understand how the could afford to sponsor a race car, but they couldn't afford to give anyone a raise. Just wrong.

  20. yeah, they have preety good food there. I do not know like why shows make fun of Arbys, like they will say, I am so hungry, I could eat at Arbys and everyone is like ehhhhhhhhhhhhh

  21. It's a sad story, if the story is true. There are many people out there who SCAM other people. We don't know maybe they go around to many places daily and do this. Maybe they are Bonnie and Clyde?

On the other hand if they were truly poor I feel sorry for them. Now as far as the women who feels so bad about this when the manager turned him down, why didn't she go running up there and say, Sir can I buy you and your lady some lunch?

I mean if I felt bad that's what I would do. I wouldn't just sit there and eat, and feel bad. I would go running after the person but hey that's just me. Oh, and I never had Arby's in my life.

  22. I still kinda like Arbys. But you have to remember that is only one Arbys. The only thing i like there is their curly fries and milk shakes.

  23. that food makes you fat

  24. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  25. Generally, I like Arby's chicken sandwiches, but its prices have skyrocketed out of normal fast-food range in the past many years, so I never go there anymore.

  26. ive never been to arbys but i was just about to go and get somethin from there but now im not.

  27. Nope...ever since ours got rid of their Home-style fries we don't go there.  Can't stand curly fries.

Now to comment on the article.

We have a couple that is "homeless" in our area, or had.  They panhandled for money/food.  When they were offered food they got mad.  They wanted money.  It was found out that they were pulling in about 50k a year and weren't homeless.

If this person was so upset that the manager didn't give them food, why didn't she buy them some.  I've done it, a number of times.  It's not up to the manager to give away food, plus, they would never leave once it was given to them.

  28. Well to be honest the managers have to follow strict guidelines and all fast food managers have to do that, not just Arby's.  Second of all why would someone decide to get pregnant and bring a child into this world when they are not even able to feed themselves?  Makes no sense.  I am sure the manager has to deal with people coming in there every day asking for a free meal.  There are many shelters all across america willing to help those in need and soup kitchens willing to give out free food to those in need.  Perhaps the manager could have gave them info on where to seek help eventhough it's not a part of his job really.  And to be honest if customers really felt bad for that needy man and pregnant woman then they would have got up and offered them some food or offered to pay for thier meal right away.  Why talk negatively about an entire food chain because of that?  I'm sure that sort of stuff happens at every food chain and even clothing store.  If a manager of a clothing store refused to give a guy and pregnant lady free designer clothing would anyone be outraged?  Probably not.

  29. I'm not going to stop eating there because of that article.  I'm sure the employees have rules they have to abide by.  Why did the people in the restaurant help them?  Like the person in the article was talking about looking for them to help, well they waited until it was all over and they had left before stepping up to the plate to help.

  30. I love the curly fries at Arby's, but I don't eat there regularly.

I think that the article shows what a little act of kindness can do. It is unfortunate that the manager didn't give this man a free meal or a job in exchange for some food. Many families or people are less fortunate then us, so we should do our part for them. No one is perfect and you can't help everyone, but you should do what you are capable in doing. If I was the manager, I would have given this family a chance. If I was unable to give them a job, I would compromise with a gift card or something. Hopefully, the family has better luck somewhere else.

Thanks for bringing this article to my attention.

  31. I don't eat there very often but after reading that I don't plan to. At least not at that location (which is no where near me). That's pretty callous, the manager could've at least offered the man a job or given him some older food that is probably thrown out anyway.
