Do you like to eat spiders? [u really have to read this]

You eat eight spiders every year in your sleep. True?

Nope, says MythBusters. There's no evidence that spiders secretly crawl into our mouths while we're sleeping. Even if you were lying perfectly still, your breathing would scare a spider off, so it's unlikely to hang out around your mouth. Alas, the bad news: You probably consume more spiders when you are awake -- in your food. Here's why: The Food and Drug Administration guidelines allow a certain level of whole insects or parts in some food products, such as those containing fruits or vegetables. Yum.

  1. it's all protein right!!!

  2. Myth busters is right in one sense, they don't crawl into you mouth at night.

    But do we consume insects?

    Yes.

A person consumes( on average) about one lb. of bugs per year.

    Why?

Because they're in almost everything we eat.

    Tomato products

    Chocolate

    vegetables

    grain. flour, bread etc etc.

It's allowed by the FDA ( otherwise we'd all starve).

It's called the food defect action level.

I'll edit and send you some facts.

By the way, this is true.

    You can also look up

    insects in food+fda

and view the actual defect in food booklet.

( allowable parts of insects and rodent hairs allowed in food).

  3. OK?  So, what's your question?

Do you want recipes?  I've eaten grubs, grasshoppers, crickets, and ants on purpose.

Bits of things are allowed in our food by the FDA because no matter what you do, there's practically no way of keeping them out.  If you want a really fun time, try looking up the history of "summer sausage"... when the sausage factories cleaned out their basements (literally)... mmm mmh!  Love that rat.
