Nearest for us is the Hudson River.  But will tow boat further for vacation.  Just fished Lake Champlain

I have to steal from Chimp Dancer....."I love fishing!" I fish freshwater only. I fish lakes 90% of the time, rivers the rest. I would like to fly fish in a stream someday, but I'm not quite there yet.

Living in central California I' 15 mins from a lake 3 mins from the river and an hour from the pacific so I guess you could since I fish em all that its really hard to choose.And thats funny someone mentioned aquarium cause me and a friend did that to his oscars he had one day when it was raining really bad and we couldnt go fishing outside so we got out the ultra lights and night crawlers sat on the couch cast across the living room plunk fish on just that quick and of corse we were drunk and used barbless hooks so as not to hurt the fish

I enjoy fishing & the place i do most of my fishing, is a small ( 750 square mile ) lake ( Okeechobee ),which is located about 1/2 mile from my home in southern florida

I love to go. I live on a small lake off the the White River and I go fishing just about every day. But I love to find some smaller rivers and do some catfishing at night.

Chimp's got it right... as usual.

Typically I fish this little place called the Indian River Lagoon... it's 160 miles of brackish water oyster beds, seagrass flats, channels, inlets, fresh water outfalls, etc. Good for the soul. Occasionally I'll hit a retention pond or along the St. John's River, but I'm centered mostly on salt/brackish water.

I don't like fishing...I love fishing!  I don't care if it's a lake, stream, water retention pond or a ditch! I don't care if it's in a tub, pot hole or your aquarium!  I don't care if it's the Atlantic, Pacific, Emerald isle's or the Dead Sea! I will fish in the Hades River or in Heaven above..I'll be holding a rod and reel going for broke! If that's not love then I'm in the wrong sport ( or out of my mind) ; ) ~good luck catchin'.

If I can afford the time, I would be fishing out in the deep blue sea casting along the reefs for GTs, scouting the horizon for Tuna boils or dancing Sails....

Sure but I haven't gone in years.  I used to go to a lake.  Now if I was to go I'd have to go to the ocean....lakes have been dry here for a couple decades....we're having  bit of a drought ya see!

I live in Michigan so normally I just fish in local and surrounding lakes. I have also fished in all of the great lakes atleast once.
