Do you like to lend things to people...?

Question

When someone borrows something from you, are you a little worried that you will never get your thing back or that it will be damaged?

After sometime if they don't give it back, do you ask it back?

i was at a Senior homecoming football game in HighSchool. the cheerleaders and staff were going around the stadium selling some kind of high school books with pictures of the homecoming girls and alot more. well when i bought one, these group of loud ghetto girls just one by one wanted to see it. and i swear, that book started to go higher and higher and higher to where i just couldnt reach it. they were taking the pictures out of the book, part of it was wrinkled. and even though it was just a book, my eyes were glued on it, becuase its mine and i bought it. so finally said i wanted it back and they threw the book at me and said "here! take youre freaken book!" this happened to me with my year book too. they dont want to buy it but they want to hog it from the buyer. i dont get it. usually i'm very giving, but sometimes you have your limits.

I only lend things to the people I totally trust.that's why I'm not afraid not to get them back and I dare to ask them to give my things back to me.I'm really comfortable

I USED to like lending things to people but when I started not getting them back, I stopped doing so. People hold your property hostage for different reasons. Many times the people who do so are the ones whom you think will return your property without a problem. At the risk of being labeled selfish, it's best to keep your belongings to yourself. Only lend something if you don't mind not getting it back.

i hate lending things to people, im not selfish but they should get their own if they want to have one themselves!!

and to the if they dont give it back do you ask for it back, no i aint stupid enough to lend it them in the first place haha

Lend nothing to anyone. The majority of people are not responsible & respectful of something that is not theirs.

Yes, and  if they don't return it within a week or two I ask for it back

I used to lend things all the time, but after having things "borrowed" and never returned, and having things returned damaged, I stopped lending them.  I just say, "I don't feel comfortable lending that out."  if asked.

Oh, and NEVER EVER lend money...that's the fastest way to end a friendship.

I don't like to lend things to people, but sometimes family (who I know are dependable and respectful of their own stuff and can be depended on to respect my stuff) will borrow things like my hedge clippers, or leaf blower, or serving platters, etc..  

If someone, even family, asks to borrow something and I decide to lend it to them, I expect that item returned within a week.  If it is not returned within a week, I don't feel awkward asking for it's return.  

If it is necessary for me to ask for the return of a borrowed item, I make a mental note to never lend to that person again.  If a borrowed item is returned broken or damaged, I make a mental note to never lend to that person again.

I have learned Not to loan.  I suffer less if I just say NO in the first place.  Exception:  my sisters.  they are very reliable people

Not anymore, I really hate lending pencils/pens to people in school, sometimes they never give it back and one guy started chewing on it! I mean now I think of it as "it's your own d**n stupid fault you forgot to bring a pencil to school" hmp! lol

Well but there are exceptions.. like if my bf wanted to borrow something then I'd let him cuz I 100% know he'll give it back.

I FEAR lending things to people. I fear that they will not return it or damage it. It has happened before. To get out of lending things, I will tell lies. eg, i'm broke, it's spoiled, i no longer have it or I lent it to someone and they didn't return it.
