I mean the kind where the ending is not clear and you have to draw your own conclusions.

Or do you like everything to be wrapped up neatly by the author?

  1. i like both theyre good

  2. I prefer an ending I can't see coming. Even though it feels good to see your predictions come true, it's also slightly annoying that you knew the ending before you were done. I like it when they throw hints in here and there that could be put together to find the story's ending, but they have to be hard. For example, I want it to be something I can catch on the second time reading and be surprised at how well the author hid it.

  3. As far as plot goes, it really depends on the book. If it's a series, I like a little bit of both. If it's just one book, I like a little bit of mystery.

The type of wondering I like to have is about the theme of the novel, something that challenges my deepest rooted beliefs! :P

  4. well i often do wonder why i did read the novel so yes i do read novels that make me wonder

  5. I enjoy both, but I think I like it better to draw my own conclusions because then I don't feel as sad when I'm done reading a book I really like, because there is still a lot to think about or discuss.

  6. Its a balancing act I believe.

Satisfy the basic need for closure leaving just enough room to have people thinking about it.

The more people think and remember your work the more they talk about it, the more you sell, the more you get published. But as I said, its a big balancing act.
