  1. that's between me and Allah don't ask people 2 tell u there sins

  2. yes, unfortunately i do listen to music sometime.

i am just reading a fetwa, which says that music is haram!!

  3. yes i do but not the harmful ones. i listen to gazzals and those soft songs that some singers sing. but not others that are western and have a lot of negative attitude.

  4. i really try so hard to stop. but nowadays music are just so attracting. i try my best to listen to islamic music. but it wont seem to work. i will just have to pray everyday to make the devil stop blinding with such falseness of life.

  5. I do not like music, I guess I am tasteless

  6. the thing is there is different opinions about that matter , since there is no clear text that clearly says that music is haram , so some people say it's haram , and other say that it's not

but the moderate opinion is that it's not prefferable

music is the expression of feelings as well as words are the expression of thaughts . how could that be haram?

  7. I don't think music is haram.

    Salam.

  8. no, listening to the recitation of the qur'an is more striking to the heart than any music would ever be..the qur'an hits ur heart positively in many ways.. and also some nasheeds (without the instruments) can be inspiring and peaceful.

  9. I don't listen to music. I quit listening to music when I was 20 years old.  I don't even listen to Nasheeds because they have music and instruments in them as well.

  10. well i dont think music is haram once it does not have 'curse' words in it

i listen to music all the time but i stick to bollywood and soft music

  11. It depends on the type of music..if you listen to some kind of music that tells you to "get stupid" than ya thats haram.

It all depends on the message the song is trying to bring to the person....anyways i listen to lectures instead of songs now.

  12. Yes, its only coz music has No effect on me. i am very powerful :D

  13. Music instruments are haram. I think those of you who are saying its not

are taking texts out of context and

    should carefully study the quran.

  14. Music is not haram. Study the Quran carefully. It says no where that it is. And yes of course I listen to music.

  15. I don't believe music is haram, that's a form of rabbinical style Islam that is typical of cultures under attack from society. Islamic societies have always valued music in various forms, when Islam was strong.

However, I don't listen to it much because I don't like other people's emotions invading my private space.

The Prophet (pbuh) advised music for Eids and weddings, and to make time go faster while working. The hadiths about musical instruments are weak and usually taken out of context.

  16. yeah... but i rarely listen to songs in english x) i'm into fobby asian music nowadays... considering i'm asian, i guess. jpop/kpop fills up my ipod. although i can't understand some lyrics, they're much better/appropriate than the stuff we have playing in america x) hehe, idk... just my opinion...

and i don't really think it's haram. depends on what you're listening to... what the lyrics are saying anyways...

  17. Yes, however I do not listen to any English music especially rock, hip-hop, etc. The only English music I listen to very rarely is classical. Although I do have a definite weakness for Turkish music, but it does not affect me to the extent I must listen to it 24/7.
