  1. Because in central London it's hard to find bins (the IRA used to put bombs in them), and I don't like carrying trash in my hand for ages, or putting it in my bag (thus getting my bag dirty...)

  2. I don't because it sucks

  3. Problems always occur. and the cause of the problem is the question. littering is there. but what is the cause of it. we are the cause of littering. people who don't know what will happen if we do it.  I show a lot of importance to global warming, littering, polution and more. i recycle, send messages with my club about global warming and try to get that message around. Our club is named Helping Because We Care.  littering is bad. it can cause pollution, and for bad fumes to enter our air. I certainly don't do it, and i hope others don't either.

  4. When I was young I did. Why I have no idea. Now / No I don't and I also recycle. I am very much into nature and its beauty.

  5. No I dont.. I  despise litter bugs, theres no excuse for it .. You often see it and its all done  by sly people who make sure nobody sees them do it .. They are pathetic..

  6. i only do if its necessary Like throwing an apple core out the car window. I do that knowing birds can eat them. Otherwise, no i do not litter. Oh, and pistachio shells too sometimes.

  7. Although I am 100 % against littering, I have done so in the past without guilt.  I make it a habit to only throw out things in the car as I drive along that can be eaten by wildlife or that is organic in nature.  I sometimes eat fruit, so I see nothing wrong in throwing out an apple core or a banana skin.  If animals or insects eat them, fine.  If not, they will return to the soil in form of nutrients. That is nature's recycling.

  8. Ok, I'll admit.  I have littered. Why? Well I don't think I can recall of the exact situation, but it was most likely due to pure laziness. I do not litter now.  I actually hate to see someone litter.  One time, I was driving down the interstate and the car in front of me threw a McDonald's bag, with food, out the window and it hit my windshield, splattering a half eaten big mac. It was sick.

I think people who litter are lazy.  I believe you can wait until you get home to throw away something that you would just throw out the window of your car.  I think the people who litter, are the people who just don't care.

"There is no known gender, age or class differentiation in littering behaviour (although young men are more likely to admit to littering).

    Littering behaviour is affected by…

people thinking the item is not litter (cigarettes, food scraps)

people not being willing to look for a bin

lack of social pressure to do the right thing

absence of realistic penalties or consistent enforcement

    social rebellion

lack of knowledge of the environmental effects of littering

    poor packaging design

amount of litter already present at a particular site

presence and wording of signs referring to litter

number/ placement and appearance of bins at/near the site.

    Litter stereotypes"
