I've lived in Tornado alley for the last 16 years, I'm tired of having to spend so much time watching the weather, it's time to move.

  1. yup, in Belize here, it rain even with the Big Sun smiling like crazy!!!

  2. Eh, New York, just check if it may rain this week.

I am speaking of the city really, cause one time I was in westchester which is about 25-35 miles north of the city and I had to get my girlfriend hair color cause she screwed up the first batch and wouldn't leave the house. It looked rather ominous out, kinda like it would before a tornado that I have seen on tv. I get to the bottom of her hill where the shopping center was and it started raining, and getting very windy and then it started hailing, like marble sized hail. So I kinda freaked out cause they were coming sideways. I get the stuff after it stops and go back to her house and ask her what that was about and she said that it was normal and that they do have tornadoes come through there sometimes. So maybe if you look at a city you'll be less likely to have to check for tornadoes, I'm from New Jersey and I haven't seen a tornado there, so maybe thats safe? But you never really ever have to watch the news or weather channel.

  3. dno wot u mean

  4. Unfortunately, yes.  Right now it's been between 105 and 110 for the last few days with lots of smoke from the fires that are raging all around us.  We usually have wildfires, but mainly in late August from lightning storms.  This year they started in June and haven't let up.  As far as the heat, same thing.  Summers here are usually on the hot side but this year it started in May with a surprise heat wave.  Arrrgh! : )

I would suggest the San Francisco Bay Area for somebody looking to move somewhere with fantastic weather.  I grew up in San Jose and they have wonderful summers/mild winters... plus it's near the ocean!

  5. nope i live in atl

  6. yeah i live in Texas and Texas is on the border right next to the gulf of Mexico so its sunny then rainy then cloudy then back sunny again!!!!

  7. I live in the Tahoe National Forest and we have a long hot summer with high fire danger. So yes  we keep on eye on the temperature, the humidity and the possibility of lightning storms. There were almost 1500 fires in Nor Cal about 2 weeks ago, I think we now have only! 300 to 400 hundred. The smoke is so thick it poses on the brink of hazardous to go outside. Worst year ever and I lived here 30 years and it is ONLY July!

  8. yes i do, we live where we have to worry about tornados too. But it really doesn't matter where you live there is always some sort of weather that can have a major effect in any area in the world. I figure better a tornado than a hurricane.

  9. heck yea i live in texas

  10. Good luck, much of the United States gets tornadoes.  The coasts get hurricanes and they are just as troublesome.  Seems the world is falling apart at the seems anymore....

PS.  I have lived in tornado alley also and in Miami (hurricanes stink too).

  11. I live in Western Colorado (Grand Junction) No tornados, no floods, no earthquakes. Summers get kinda hot but never a major problem. It seems like the safest place in the US to live as far as natural disaters are concerned. I guess we could have a major fire in the mountains, but nothing that would affect the valley itself. Lots of jobs, decent housing prices. The only problem is it can get kind of boring for people moving here from the city. But the surrounding wilderness is FANTASTIC.

  12. live in LA. sunny every day... no need for the weather chanel if it cant predict earthquakes

  13. You better believe I do.  I am in South Louisiana about 30 miles from the Gulf of Mexico and am constantly watching for tropical storm development.

  14. i live in california...the fires down here get so d**n bad in the summer its unbelievable...i think right now we have over 1000 fires burning accross the state, the smoke is everywhere, evacuations going on all over. i hate walking outside and cant even see a mile down the road because the smoke is so thick. i want to move back to vegas, weather was never bad there...i loved it. like one big storm a year, a nice dry heat, no humidity, so awesome.

  15. Lots of fierce storms, tornado's where I live.

I own a commercial sign service business so my only benefit to living in these weather conditions it that it brings in work.

  16. yes, i live what they call tarnado ally, but it may not be the same one, you live in, there are more then one tornado ally in the u.s.a. but in the hot summer, i have to watch for bad lighting as well, i get off line when it's near, but i don't think i'll move again, for it's just about as bad one place, as another. keep a watch out.

  17. yes!! i hate it i live in England in Devon its mad..floods all the time .. its supposed to be summer but its cold and raining all the time (i know its England but the weather is worse than it usually is)

the weather is changing and its becoming more violent..what is it going to be like in 10 years.. tornado's may be the norm.

  18. I've been a blizzard, earthquake, hurricane, heat wave, flash flood, tornado, and extreme cold alert while living in the DC area.  Not to mention, terrorist attack on the pentagon, sniper shootings, anthrax scares, bomb threats, and building evacuations for amateur pilots flying in a "no-fly zone"

  19. yeah I live In new Orleans and it's the same way not ready to move yet I love it here

  20. i live in the south of england i have never seen a tornado but it does rain all throught the summer its been raining all day today actually !

  21. in england its unusual if its not raining.

  22. Yes! I do, Iowa's weather is always coming in with storms and tornado warnign and recently had some major flooding.

  23. Yes, we have to watch the weather.  Hubby and I currently live in Idaho, high mountain desert, 4700+ feet elivation.

Hubby works on the commercial wind turbines.  Huge thunder/lightening storms can spring up FAST at this altitude.  Of course the men that work on the wind turbines cannot be in a big metal tube, when the lightening rolls in.

We also have a farm, so the weather constantly affect everything on the farm.  Quiet alarming is the fact that there is a frost warning for tonight!  Our frost free days are supose to be Memorial Day to Labor Day.  There's no way we should be having frost this time of year.

We are actually in the process of moving to another state at the moment.  Normally this frost warning would be of great concern to me, as it would take out our garden, and possibly damage crops.  None planted this year.

We live in the very heart of potato country though.  This frost is going to be quiet damaging to potato vines.  Food prices will rise even more this year as the next three nights we are supose to have frost.

We also get dust storms here when the winds whip up.  So bad you can only see 10-20 feet.

We also get micro-burst tornados, and small tornados here all the time.  Last summer a micro burst went dirrectly over the house.

Took one window off the house, but otherwise did no damage (unless you want to count the pounds of dust it put into the house).

We always keep a close eye on the weather around here.  Idaho, in the mountains....screwy weather.
