If you were to gather all that you've lost, place it in a pile, and then all that you've since gained, place it in another pile, side by side, and were told you could only keep one, which would you choose?
Why do we either look in the past or the future?
Are we not ever changing? And is loss and gain not one in the same, as nothingness and sameness are where the memory of something, and the promise of something meet, as does a zero on a number line? If we focus on only the memory, it cannot generate into something new. And if we focus on only the promise, it has nothing to generate from. The past contains memory, the future contains plans. The present is where the sparks take place.
