I play poker....you could almost say...religiously.

I told someone the other day and got a weird...disgusted reaction..(I won't quote her...)..to which took no offense...but it made me curious.

Is it really that bad?

About my vice:

Not like strip poker or anything...no clothing is removed....although I do play in my undies sometimes. = )

I am playing right now......we won't discuss my clothing situation. I am sitting in a 5-10 cash game as I type this out.

I just enjoy playing poker....and winning money....although I would play without money also if I had no other option.

My last 9 sessions out of 10 were winning.....

I prefer Hold'em and Stud to most other games.

Any input? Am I drain on society, or a horrible person.

I think not....but my friends mother would have me think otherwise?

  1. Nope..enjoy.

  2. No one should look down on you for doing what you enjoy.  If you want to play poker........even in your undies, that's your right.  I say do what feels right to you and don't worry about what others think or say.

  3. No, she probably has her own issues. If you made millions, she's change her tune.

  4. I don't think there's anything wrong with gambling. I knew someone who had a career as a poker player. That was his job. He did online gambling and it worked for him.

I wish we could use some of the money that goes into gambling, come out through the community somehow. It's not like it's going to go away.

  5. No I don't look down on you- everyone has their hobbies. As long as you are not losing money because then it would be a bit sad. Enjoy it and make some money!

  6. Are you talking about playing online or do you actually play with other real people? Do you go to casinos and lose a bunch of money and spend all your time doing this or is this just kind of a social hobby around the house? I think if it's online and you lose money and spend all your time then yes it's a problem. If you just do it around the house with friends in your spare time and no significant amount of money is involved than who cares you're fine.

  7. Who cares what she thinks...I play hold'em almost everyday too...big freaking deal...it's not hurting anyone and it's fun for me (and you). And if the last 9 outta 10 games were winning then play on brotha!!!

  8. You are a keel hauling sonofabitch.

  9. Well as long as you don't worship poker you are okay!

  10. 9 out 10 sessions?

If i was her i'd be giving you my money as an investment instead of bitching about it.

  11. No I would not however gambling of any type can become a addiction just like smoking and drinking, so ask yourself are you doing the normal things in life or does that come second to card playing are you losing money more than you can afford to lose,

if the answer is yes than you have a illness, get help soon good luck
