Do you love Spiders? Why are people so afraid of them?

Question

I adore them! My favorites are the Blue Cobalt Tarantuala, and the Black Widow, for their extreme beauty, but of course I don't touch those! LOL

I feel really bad that spiders are so misunderstood, and a lot of people kill them in their homes.

Why are people afraid of them, when they are pretty much harmless?

I'm terrified of spiders, I'm not really sure why.

The only spider that i can tolerate is a tarantula, again, not sure why.

a spider/tarantuala bite can kill you and some people have arachnophobia ,the fear of spiders.

i think they are interesting...especially the rose hair tarantula but i'm a scardey cat of them.

I'm not afraid of them I simply don't like them.  But I have to acknowledge that they play a critical roll it controlling insect populations.

Oh wow! I've never even heard of a Blue Cobalt Tarantuala. Those are gorgeous! I'm not really 'afraid' of spiders, but I wouldn't really want one as a pet. I'm facinated by them too...especially the Black Widows like you said. I love how they kill the male after mating. It's so cruel, but that's nature. Black Widows don't take no c**p from anybody! LOL

I don't touch them (for my safety, lol) but I love to watch the spiders amble about. When I happen to find one I stare at it for a  while... their webs are gorgeous too.

There was one time when a spider managed to terrify me, but that was because it caught me by surprise. I had just gotten out of the shower and I was just wearing a towel. I reached out to open my closet and I'm about to grab the doorknob, when I realize there's this huge spider right. There. So... I had my mom take it outside.

I don't have a fear of spiders.  But, I don't like anything biting me so I wouldn't want to touch them.  But just seeing one doesn't bring the visceral reaction that I get from seeing a roach.  Roaches to me are the most disgusting creatures on earth, and nothing else is more gross, but that's just me.

ive had bad experiences with spiders when i was little

i was bit several times.--> and it was terrible.. each time i had a huge bubble and ugh

which probably caused me to be so scared of them

when i was even younger than now if i saw a spider i wouldnt go in the room i saw it in for days.

why i hate spiders??

because there ugly && they bite..

but i must admitt the blue spider was the prettiest spider ive ever seen so far

I love Tarantulas,

But I hate Garden Spiders and Daddy long legs.

Im Really Not sure why I don't like them though.

I wish I could have a pet tarantula but Im allergic. =(

Some people just have fears, but i think they are interesting, especially Goliath Bird Eaters

i dont fear them i just dont like them. they arent my first choice for a pet. i love snakes and some lizards though. i got 5 ball pythons and 1 red tail boa, no spiders. if it makes you laugh i am getting a spider ball python in a couple weeks haha
