  1. Yes, I particularily try and see small independent galleries and artist run spaces if I can find out about them beforehand, art bookshops and larger Museums of Contemporary or modern Art. For instance in New York there are literally thousands, if you go to the Chelsea area, as well as the Met, the MoMA and PS1, and the Whitney.

Barcelona is one of my favourite cities and despite not being a centre for contemporary art it has some great locations, such as the Santa Monica centre at the coast end of hte ramblas, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) and a film space by/under the university which also has a wonderful art bookshop. In London, as well as the Tate you have vyner street in bethnal green which hosts a variety of wonderful ground breaking galleries.

  2. I like visiting art galleries when I'm abroad, especially modern art. I was at a really cool art gallery in Venice, and I've been to some Tate galleries in UK. I recommend Tate.

However, I don't think it's necessary to visit art galleries when you go abroad, it depends on what your interests are.

  3. I've been to the Louvre. Did you know the Mona Lisa is painted on wood and is only 2 foot square?

  4. I have been, but don't really go out of my way to

  5. I love art but I don't go abroad but I do go to art galleries!!

  6. Yes always,,,,

  7. I do like to visit art galleries when i go aboard.

  8. Well, I don't go abroad. (Went once, full of foreigners) but  I do like visiting art galleries.

  9. No I'm not really into art, but I like to explore Cathedrals, Churches (I'm not even religious), historical buildings and the old "cobbled street" parts of a town.

  10. Depends where I go.

Last year I went to the Bayeux tapestry in France. Then walked a short distance to the added on art gallery they'd moved to another building.

I must admit, the tapestry was lovely, you could see the thought that had gone into every single bit. But, the art gallery was a little bit of a let down.

Usually, before I go abroad, I research the place for a few months before, then write down all the places I want to visit. That way, I don't come back to England saying '' Oh I wish I went to ____, I forgot all about it! ''
