Do you make soap? Where can I get lye off the internet?

I would really like to try getting lye to make soap...however I'm having difficulties. Everywhere I go make you order in bulk, or have to purchase other things along with the lye.

Where do you get yours? I don't want too much since I'm just beginning, however getting a lot seems to be my only choice. >.<

I make soap using the melt and pour method,however I might be able to help you withyour problem( alittle).I just checked with brambleberrys&#039; website and they sell 2lbs.of lye for only 10.00!If you need help trying to calculate the ratio of oils to lye,they have a lye calculator to help out.If you are going to purchase lye,they require everyone to fill out a hazmat protocol form.I hope this helps you out.

if you have a local hardware hank store, lowes, or home depo, or other hardware store - check out the drain cleaners/septic system cleaners and look for Roebic 100% Crystal (This is the company name that sells it)- I believe the bottle size is around 2 lbs (32 oz) and in the neighbor hood of $10-$12.

I know I&#039;ve seen it at the 3 above mentioned stores - I by mine in bulk but did buy a container of Roebic at Hardware Hanks when I needed a example for my soap class I was teaching.
