Do you mark up your textbooks?

If so do you think it helps you master the material better? If not, do you feel at a disadvantage for not being able to? What is you highest level of education?

  1. At first I left the textbooks clean in order to sell them back to the store.  When I began buying used books, I no longer had to worry about highlighting but still didn't do it because I didn't think it mattered.  After a few semesters of buying used books, I noticed that the most useful books (for studying) already had highlighted portions: the highlights drew my attention towards what others had believed important enough to mark.  I began to mark my textbooks, also.  I didn't own a highlighter, so I used my pen to underline anything that I felt was note-worthy but not yet marked.  

    Highest level of education:  Bachelor's Degree


  2. High lighter,and a color code system.Then I would sell em to someone else the next year with key to my system.Thats it thou.

  3. i have a bachelors degree and i never marked my books because i wanted to sell them back for more money (not back to the bookstore, you don't get as much).  I find that if you just write what you want to highlight into a note book, you can remember it better and then you can just study the notes you have taken
