Do you miss it when your kids were younger?

My oldest is 12 and she is really independent and doesn't like me going in her room. She made me promise not to go in while she is away at gymnastics camp this summer. I miss the days when she was 5 and we first moved out of my parents house and she was afraid to sleep in the room by herself and when she used to need me for everything. I have a 8 month old too but I just miss my 12 year old doing it maybe because we have been through so much together with me having her in high school and everything. Does anyone else miss when their kids were younger?

  1. Sure does, my son is now 17 and I've lost a fishing partner, he'll sometimes ask for my advice on girls and relationship. I sure miss those days, but I,m proud of his present achievements. I've got a 3 year old daughter, who is an angell, a princess, a terrorist, the owner of everything in the house and the baby all in one. I am only needed for the rough and tumble Guess we are just good old emotional, lonely, loving parents, aren't we?.

Purest Blessing to you and yours.

  2. Mine aren't at that stage yet, but I'm sure I will.  My two boys are five and a half and nearly 4.  I think it's very natural what you are feeling.  Sometimes I look at my eldest and can't believe he's going to be 6 at the end of the year.  I still remember him as a baby and he seems so grown up now.  I can't imagine him at 12!
