Though I'm not in the West, I do love to see them when I go to Pakistan. They're not here in the Middle East either.

Specially the kulfi walas! They have the best ice cream in the world, in my opinion. Land sakes---if I wouldn't prefer it over a Baskin Robbins Oreo cookies n' cream ice cream anyday!

There are some 'sugar cane' walas too, aren't there? Never got a decent sugar cane in Saudi Arabia.

They're imported---they're dry as dust. And besides, they're not even sold. Just used to squeeze out the precious juice. If u beg the shop keeper to let u buy one, he'll first do plenty of 'nakhras'. Then after u've tried a variety of cajoling techniques, he'll sell it to u---on his own terms---too d**n expensive. Like 1 sugar cane for SR.10!  And the juice is cheaper. How fair is that?
