  1. yeh i would love to c carlton play at princes park again, but with the corporate level of the comp now, it wouldnt work

  2. I have been to all those places. I really enjoyed the footy at Princes Park. Carlton should still play their non-Vic opponents there. The Gardiner Stand (wood) may be a fire hazard, but it was homey.

I hate Collingwood so much, I pissed on the door to the Maggies race at Vic Park.

Windy Hill was interesting, I just tried to imagine the roar of the crowd when John Coleman kicked goals.

Western Oval still looked OK last I saw it. It is small and the Doggies could only play non-Vic opponents there.

Arden Street is just worn out, just like Glenferrie. It was probably a good idea that the Roos and the Hawks don't play league footy there anymore.

Brunswick Street Oval and Junction Oval have so much history involved. I have been to Junction Oval several times.

Moorabbin looks like it could be a league venue again, but it would cost too much to bring up to standard.

Lake Oval is too much a soccer ground now and you can't walk into the old stand because it is condemned.

I liked Punt Road Oval, I saw Richmond-Geelong in the reserves there in 1997.

  3. You've just made me cry thinking about all those old grounds!

I remember being taken to them as a kid by my Granddad & my Dad.

I like the big stadiums too, i just wish i could take my kids back to the good old days.......just once, so they could experience REAL FOOTBALL   in REAL MISERABLE conditions.....with a luke warm pie in hand!

  4. Yes, I loved it in Waverley as i lived very close to there an d my parents used to take me and my sis and bro out for footy games :)

  5. Why would you want to ask a serious question now Parrrrrrrrrrris?

Don't mess with your reputation now!!  :)

  6. Though I prefer to watch games at the large stadiums, I do hold fond memories of the smaller grounds..such as Waverley Park and Victoria Park.

I dont miss the hard wooden benches, lack of shelter in the freezing cold and carpark nightmares!!

Thanks for the serious question Paris...awesome ;)

  7. There are only two of the grounds you mention I miss western oval and victoria park and of the others like junction oval morrabbin and kardinia park I don't particularly miss them either even if geelong has spent a lot of money improving the facilities its been a long time since i have been there and the last time i was there it was awful

  8. No.

  9. I only ever went to a couple of them, but used to go to VFL Park / AFL Park nearly every week as I was a member there.

I miss that ground ....... Only been to about 5 matches since it closed.

But to answer your question i prefer the bigger grounds

  10. nah... i probably wasnt alive when they werte on those grounds. Well i probably was alive....but u get wat i mean.

There wouldnt b enuff seats. At WC games we havent been able to get tickets ... so if the grounds smaller there would b no chance.

  11. No. Glad to get rid of them.
