  1. You don't need one to purchase them through a dealer, but if you get the C&R FFL03 you can order C&R approved guns and have them shipped directly to you.  The only advantage of the C&R is that you can buy wholesale at cheaper prices if you are really serious about starting a big collection.  Sometimes you can also get mail order specials if the company has your C&R on file.

  2. No, you don't need a C&R license; just money; and lots of it.  Don't stop with the three you listed, also get some 1917 models, O3A2,s, Garands, in fact if you have a few extra buildings setting around you can get all sorts of interesting old warhorse thundersticks.  Not that I would know anything about that in case my wife is reading this.

  3. With a 01 FFL you can get the C&R eligible firearms and modern firearms as you wish.

Plus the constant bombardment of sales circulars and catalogs.

  4. No you don't an FFL to buy these rifles, just go to your local gun shop inspect and pay for the rifle then pick it up when your laws allow you to. 18 years old for all long guns and 21 years old for handguns

  5. Cali . Gun laws suck to hi heaven you shouldn't have to have a lic. to get them also I have a 98k .. be still my heart I love it the 303 British enfield is nice to. The mosin Nagant shoots a 7.62 x54r its a bad *** round as well But my personal is the 8mm.   98k

  6. No unless you want them shipped to your house. You can get ww2 era guns, tis just a matter of how hard they are to find. Mosin's are easy and cheap to find, around $60-$90. Kar 98's are quite a bit rarer and I haven't seen any for sale in some time but the rule of thumb is $250+. My uncle has one and my buddy has two. M1 garands are even more expensive, They can go for $400 and I have seen ads for as much as 1,000. I know a guy who has a rifle and carbine but they need lots of finishing work. Lee Einfeild, I have not seen any for sale in quite some time. There out there but good figgin' luck. I stopped looking. 1903 sprinfeild I would say  $400-$500 on condition. Thing is many American and British guns were usually destroyed when the net best rifle came along so that's why there harder to find. The Soviet and German guns were not. They were exported. The number of Mausers made was not even half of what they made of the mosin. You could possibly find the harder to find ones online but you still have to have the weapon shipped to a dealer with an FFL.

But you don't need a liscence to buy rifles, even in Kalifornistan. Just as long as it's shipped to somone with an FFL. And Vangion is right you could just go for the C&R liscence yourself.

  7. I can just echo what everyone else said. You don't need a C&R to buy a rifle locally. I suggest you check out Big 5. They routinely have sales on Mosin Nagant rifles. The price drops to 90$. Thats where I bought my M44 carbine.

  8. You can buy any of those rifles through a local dealer, as stated by others, with no problem at all. You may even wish to speak with a dealer and see if he'll allow you to purchase military rifles online shipped through his license. They generally charge a small fee to do that, but it's well worth it, since you have access to so much more.

I've had a C&R for years now and collect bolt action military rifles. Look at the site links below and search the Curio and Relic/Collector firearms categories and you'll see the wide range of military firearms available. Both sites also have links where you can search for legitimate FFL dealers in your area that will handle the transactions for you. Plus are full of the legal requirements. Check them out. California makes it a bit tougher, but it's a great hobby. Welcome to the world of Curio & Relics!

  9. You only need the C&R license if you want to buy online and have the guns mailed directly to your house and not have to pay the dealer mark up

When  you can get it it is well worth the $30
