My HDMI T.V. is 720p does it matter? Or will the quality be degraded?

  1. in order to maximize the performance of your Bly ray disk you should have a 1080 p tv that means that all the lines of resolution are being scaned progressivly. But unless your tv is larger than 42 inches 720p will be just fine. Also the Bly ray disk has 7.1 surround sound and you won't use that unless you have seven speakers and a sub. Also remeber the Blu ray disk is quite duarable with its incredible scratch resistance so its well worth your 30 dollars a cd : ) I hope this helped

  2. You don't NEED a 1080p tv....but for Blu-ray OPTIMAL performance you do. IF you hook a blu-ray player up to your 720p set, it will downscale the 1080p signal to 720p. Blu-ray at 720p is still a nice improvment over 480i/p of regular DVD, but you're not using it to it's full potential. But it WILL work :) Hope this helps.

  3. No, you don't need a 1080p TV to watch Bluray movies. I myself have a 720P LG which works great with my PS3. However, the quality is slightly better on a full HD set. Your TV will simply downscale the 1080 to 720, which isn't bad at all when compared to SD content.
