To rent a car, you will need to show your Full UK or international driving licence as proof of identification.

Payments should be accepted in cash or cheque, credit/debit cards may also be accepted.

As previously mentioned on this post, they may take your card details to ensure the vehicle is returned or if not, charge accordingly.

Usually they will require a credit card because if anything happens they just put it on your card.

in most cases many do require a credit card however some companies will acept a debit card but the downfall is this that they will put a hold on the card anywhere from $300-$500 plus the cost of the rental at the time of pick up,then when you drop off the car you will get the difference credited back which can take a few days..its just a temp hold

you can always pay cash at drop off as well ,but check around you may find some companies that dont charge that much up front on debit each state is different lower name companies are easier to rent from

say ur in florida hertz,enterprise,dollar rental those are top name companies and they will charge big bucks,but if you go will a lower company like payless or ez car rental they just charge 200-300 on the debit

Any debit card with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express should work just fine.

Yeah if you use a credit card for the deposit on the car, its usually cheaper than having it pulled from your debit card and than released a few days after you return the car.  If you use a credit card it charges it, than holds the money, than releases it when the car is returned,
