Do you need a cup for football?

im gonna playing on defensive line and i was wondering if i would need a cup? if so.. would i need it for practice?

If you're playing on the line you definitely should wear a cup. There are plenty of times in games and full contact drills that you can get hit in the groin. I wore a cup when I played and there were many times I was very thankful to have it on.

i have played on d line and with a cup, you will always be better off with a cup than without a cup. Just one of those cases where you have to better safe than sorry

it depends what position you play if you play on the line i would recommend it and if you play another position you don't need to wear one unless you want to

Watch the movie GridIron Gang and watch the 1st practice when they have pads and half the team says "cups are for *ussies"... then they practice and the DT got his balls smashed then everyone who didn't wear 1 went and put one on lol
