  1. it depends on the state and the place that you are applying.  Some places/states require you to have a degree in early childhood education....You will probably need to go to your state's education website and check it out, or look into local preschools and ask questions.  In some places you are able to help out, but not teach without that degree/certification......I hope this helps, but it varies state by state and even school by school.....

  2. At most states, yes you do need a degree (not necesarily in "preschool education" but something related would be good), a background check and a license; this is to prevent unqualified people to take care of defenseless children.

  3. I would doubt it.

Furthermore, it would be a waste of time to get your bachelor's degree in that if your goal is to work as a preschool teacher due to the pay. Not sure where you would be thinking of going, but if you dont get a scholarship, with what you would make at a daycare, it would take you a few decades to pay off a loan for a four year degree.

Unfortunately, that job is not valued by society as a whole and therefore the hours are long and the pay is little. In our state the starting salary is about $7.00 an hour with no benefits

  4. There is many colleges that provides studies in preschool ed.....bachellor degree and master....Eventhough I heard that you dont need that in some states, I recommend that you take these classes because its hard to face a classroom full of children with several difficulties and needs....They'll teach you the different kinds of intelligences and ways of learning.....they'll teach you how to keep order in a classroom, how to decorate properly, how to construct manipulatives and banners properly, how to teach them to read and now they even teach to use the integrated curriculum....

  5. At the center I work at, lead teachers HAVE to have their associates degree by the year 2010 and their Bachelor degree by 2020.  We are an accreditated and KQRS 5-star center.

  6. Yes!  You need an early childhood education degree or early elementary education degree in order to be a preschool teacher.
