  1. yes

  2. Do you need a cop to get a degree?

  3. For the Peoria Police Department, you only need a high school diploma or GED. However, they prefer candidates with an associate degree or hours toward a bachelor degree. Check out http://www.peaceofficerjobs.com for excellent information about becoming a police officer.

  4. get a degree in criminal justice first.

  5. YES U NEED TO TAKE CRIMINAL JUSTICE

  6. iv'e wondered the same thing

  7. no not really. I know quite a few guys that are cops and they all just got there by association. Some just hung around the prison long enough to get a credit on the tests the took. A few were drug dealers but changed the method of acquisition. While on the inside I even seen a few handed money for good treatment. so there must be some truth to what they say. But all in all the best way to being a cop is to allow universality to take its coarse. To Serve And Protect.

  8. In the united states, you need a high school degree and pass the civil service test. There are books in the library that will help you

  9. NO.  They also take guys who've been in the military but never completed college.  You don't need a criminal justice degree, but it does give you a competitive advantage.

YOU people are wrong about needing a degree.  3 men in my family are officers without a college degree (they were all Marines)  They got accepted into a Police Academy for the department they applied for, passed, then become cops.  Getting accepted to the academy is the hardest part.

  10. I don't know about everywhere, but here you need to be accepted to and pass the police academy.

  11. funny name

My real name is Robert Robertson, but I didn't like it.

    So I changed it to

    Peter Peterson.

  12. Depends...in Savannah, GA where my family lives, no a degree is not required.  In Minnesota (where I live) you need a 2-year degree.  Depends on the jurisdiction..

  13. do chickens have large talons

  14. NO but you should get one, it will help your career. If you become a cop before you get a degree, then they will help to pay for it. Good luck

  15. I don't know about there, but in some places you can attend the Police Academy. I think the Academy is for at least a year.

  16. nope you just have to pass some tests

  17. In most cases, no.  You just have to take a training class and pass background checks, etc.  I am sure it would help if you got a college degree in criminal justice, but where I live, I do not a cop who actually has a degree.  However, many state troopers do, but they get paid much better than a city or county cop. (the average salary for city cops in my state is $21,000)

  18. nope but they make you go thro a 18 week program and they give you tests that yu have to pass so yur always studying watch "THE ACADEMY" on fox reality t.v. its a show that shows wat i takes to become a cop

  19. Depends what state u live in...

  20. depends on the department and what kind of police work they are hiring for. Theres usually a training academy and some require a degree or certificate in criminal justice. Check with the state or department thats hiring.
