I have a bachelor's degree in finance and am thinking about starting an MBA program. Is there a license I would need to get to do this type of work?

  1. No license required.  Investment banking is a competitive to get into so you just have to have a knowledge of finance and the ability to sell yourself really well to get the job (top grades from top schools, sharp analytical ability, etc).

  2. I think most analysts have to pass the NASD Series 7 and 63 exams sooner or later but your employer should fund this assuming you are hired.
