I have my temporary license in Ohio. Do I need a licensed parent in the car to drive? If my parent doesn't have a license can I still drive with them?

  1. You MUST have an licensed person with you in the car, who is OVER 21 and have had a FULL licence for a MINIMUM of 3 years.

  2. Most states say that the temporary licenses need a licensed driver age 18 or over to be in the front seat with them.  Did you have to take a writtent test with that question on it to get that temporary license?  It may even say on the face of the license.

  3. Yes you need a parent but they have 2 have a license, sorry.

  4. Your temporary permit allows you to get on the road, but it also comes with some restrictions, namely, that you can't drive between the hours of 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. unless accompanied by a licensed adult, and you must wear your seatbelt at all times.

  5. You need either a licensed parent, a licensed legal guardian, or a driving instructor. How would a parent who doesn't know how to drive supervise you? (I'm assuming that by "temporary license" you mean learner's permit. If you passed your driving test and have a temporary license until your permanent one is mailed to you, you do not need a parent at all.)

  6. YES, you need a licensed parent in the car.
