A 50cc bike is not generally road legal. It has nothing to do with your license- they are not made to be put on the road. The max speed you noted is enough of a reason to make them illegal. When you decide to get a bike that is road legal, you will need to get a standard MC license for yourself.

You do not need a license to ride in the dirt- but you can't ride a 50cc on sidewalks or the side of the road, either. I think the only place that I've seen them legally ridden on a road were in private parks (trailer, retirement communities, etc.)

If it is a  pocket bike it can not be ridden on the street or sidewalks only in your yard. And on the street you need a license. Notice how license is spelled.

well it sounds like you are talking about a pocket bike i have a 35cc and a 75cc pocket and a 50cc gas scooter they are all illegal in every state to be riden on the street but in closed environmentsyou ar eable to ride them sorry that was my first thought when i got my vehicles because it would be great to ride those on the street to a friens house or work or somthing like that but sorry its illegal
