  1. Most people shoot a compound bow more accurately with a release...The release device allows you to not torque the string as it rolls off your fingers or glove....You retain a better sight picture, and are more in line with your release.....

  2. No, I'm a 'finger shooter", (60# draw compound bow).

A mechanical release will help your accuracy, and will allow you

to pull a somewhat greater weight, but some of us regard them as

    unsporting.

It's buying a device for a skill you should have developed.

  3. You can use your fingers to draw back the bow, however, most compound bows are short, and you'll pich your fingers.  You would be better off to go to a sporting goods store that sells bows or an archery shop.  They have a selection and will be able to set you up with the correct draw lentgh and wieght, as well as what accesories you need.

  4. hi there

no you don't need them to shoot unless the bow is set up for them,if you want to finger shoot it then you need a plunger button rest set up on it also a set of finger tabs. if the bow has a standard two prong rest or fallaway rest it is set up for release, release and loop are the best way to shoot a compound bow as there is vertually no deflection on the bow string, good luck and safe shooting.

  5. yes you will be able to shoot it still you don't need a release or a loop as you can still use fingers to shoot with.

  6. The release is not necessary, but according most archers it helps alot, especially with accuracy.   However, for hunting purposes you need to check your state's laws.

Louisiana has changed its laws on archery in the last 3 or 4 years and now any archer can use a release for hunting.   Before that, only a hunter with a documented disability could use a release, and they had to carry the documentation with them while hunting.   I dont' know if any other states might have had or still have similar laws, but it would be worth checking into.   This could be very important since you would want to do all your practice without a release if your intending on hunting with your bow, changes aren't good.
