I will be getting my B.A. in Psychology next month and would like to get an apartment and live with a roommate and start working in Chicago. I hear that a bachelor's degree is just fine for entry level jobs but is a master's better? Thanks a bunch in advance!

  1. The masters degree doesn't matter with an entry level job, the experience does...even though a job is advertised as entry level, they expect you to have experience in areas like customer service.  If you are looking for something in Psychology  then you will need a masters, as it is unlikely to find something related to your degree right now. My advice: use your connections to get something-anything-in Chicago and then volunteer in a psychology related area until you can get a job more related to psychology.  They won't hire you unless they know you!

  2. You should go for your Master's degree in your field.

  3. If you had a Masters and applied for an entry level job they'd not hire you because you'd be overqualified and they'd also have to pay you more money.
