For a Roadbike, sportsbike, and the such, you need a licence, if your in Vic, read up on www.Vicroads.vic.gov.au, cheap enough to get, you can go to places - $260 for 8 hrs driving lesson + includes l's test, to which you can then drive alone, on your l's

If it's for off-road, your own property, nup, no licence is needed.
