Do you need a pasport to visit the U.S. Virgin Islands - St. Thomas? Has anyone been there? How was your experience?

If you are an American citizen you DO NOT need a passport. We just got married there in February--we ADORE it there.

I have been to St Thomas many times and my experiences have always been positive and excellent. In fact, I will be on St Thomas next month. I'm looking forward to my trip. St Thomas is a cosmopolitan type island.Many resorts, great shopping, many restaurants and bars, tons of things to do both on land and in the sea. The beaches, the snorkeling and scuba diving are wonderful.

If you are a US citizen, a passport is not required to fly to the  USVI- St Thomas because they are US territories. It's like traveling between any of the 50 states. The people of USVI- St Thomas are US citizens.

If you get the opportunity to go to the US Virgin Islands, you will have a enjoyable trip and very good experiences)

Have not been there...but, if you are an American citizen, you do NOT need a passport to travel to any part of the United States, including the territories.  See site below.

If you are a US citizen, you do not need a passport. If you are a citizen of some other country you do need a passport.

St. Thomas has great beaches and great shopping, especially for jewelry. Be sure to hone your bargaining skills before you go, and don't take the first price quoted on anything.

If you get to St. Thomas, take the island tour with Godfrey (http://godfreytoursvi.com/). When you get to the mountain top be sure to get the Banana Daiquiri. They really are the best in the world. The last time we were there we visited Coral World, which was pretty neat.
