  1. hmm this is difficult. only 2 weeks.... thats not much time. if it were 2 months, i woudl say, definately you should be puting in the paper work for a passport. In all technicality, you need a passport to pass between any two countries. I believe you could cross the border with just a birth certificate and other ID, but i'm not entirely sure. They may have changed that policy recently, they are getting stricter all the time. Check out how fast you could get a passport, see if its possible to have it expedited. go to the post office, thats where they do that.

  2. This site states that anyone going to other countries need a passport. And I will be going to mexico after the holidays to los cabos and I waited 6mths for my passport. The backup in passports is a hard reality and is going to take more than 2 weeks since processing takes 1 week and 2nd week is back ground chect etc..

I ordered mine on July 8th 2007 recived till late November LONG WAIT.

Best you start making other plans because there is no way passport agency works hoildays.

    peace-

  3. If you are FLYING to Mexico, you must have a passport.  If you are traveling by LAND or SEA, passports are not needed until SUMMER 2008 .  See website below and read top half of page for current info.  It takes 6 to 8 weeks to get a passport normaly.  If you pay the extra $60.00 for EXPEDITING aND the extra fees to have it sent BOTH ways by EXPRESS mail, it takes 2 to 3 weeks.  You probably do not have enough time to get it.  I hope you are planning to drive or take the bus!  Many people will tell you you need a pssport to travel by land after Jan1, but that is WRONG.  The date was moved back.

  4. yup you do now

  5. Yes you need a passport to visit Mexico, and depending which country do you come from you may even need a visa.
