  2. Yes if you are flying there! But not until January 31st, 2008 will you need one if you are walking/driving across the border!

  3. By January 1 2008, you will need a US passport to return to the US from Baja Mexico, no matter what kind of transportation you use. Stop dawdling and get that document, there are lots of applicants ahead of you.

  4. not now, until next year but many groups are lobbing to block this measure.  You have to know that Tijuana-San Ysidro border crossing is the busiest bordercrossing in the world and the lines are getting pretty long which translate to less business for the area.  A passport requirement will slow down the crossing in the area.

  5. You need a passport NOW if you FLY to Mexico.  To travel to Mexico by LAND, passports will not be needed until after summer 2008.  See website below and read top half of the page for New announcement made 4 days ago.
