  1. For internal flights within the UK you need photo ID.

The airline will be able to tell you specifically what's acceptable, but the most common are either a photo driving licence or a passport.

For instance, this is Ryanair's policy:-

"For British and Irish citizens who are travelling on flights to/from the United Kingdom or to/from the Republic of Ireland (Common Travel Area), a valid driving licence with photo is acceptable photo ID. Passengers who are citizens of other countries travelling on these routes must present a valid passport (with visa if applicable) or a National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country."

So no need for a passport if a) you're from the UK and b) you have a photo driving licence.

  2. i didnt have a passport when i flew from southampton to newcastle, i just had my driving license on me

  3. yes - because you need it for ID for the airline

  5. Yes, i'm pretty sure you will need a passport.

I'm also pretty sure that only time you don't need a passport is when your flying to different places in your country.

  6. A passport or driving licence

    Passport is easier

  7. i needed a passport to fly from London to Glasgow, so you will probably need one to fly to manchester :)

why don't you ring up passport people and find out. gotta be a bit more reliable then our answers lol.

i just found out that you don't need a passport, you just need photo id for the 'passport' control..
