  1. Yes if you leave the country in anyway you must have a passport for idenification


  2. This question keeps coming up often. This is the latest, according to the US government website, NO passport is needed to cruise from a US port and return to a US port for US citizens.

    However, some cruise lines are requiring a passport.

    The best advice I can give you is Call the cruise lines you want to cruise on and ask them what the requirements are.

    Beginning January 31, 2008, the United States will end the practice of accepting oral declarations of citizenship at the border.
