Do you need a passport to go to Mexico if you are a Mexican?

one of my friends is a illegal imigrant and wants to go back to mexico, does she needs a passport, i mean she is illegal and does not have a passport.

all she needs to do is reverse her steps that brought her to this country illegally and voila she is back home in mexico and a legal citizen. no passport needed.

A passport is always a good idea crossing country borders, but I understand her situation.

The birth certificate proofs she is Mexican, but she needs to prove that she is really she.  What I mean she need to have any kind of "official" proof of ID with picture (e.g. Driver License, etc.)

Mexico will let her come back to her country with her Birth Certificate.  Ideally she needs another form of identification with picture, like her voting card (credencial de elector) driver license, etc.

She can go to the local Mexican Embassy or Consulate and with her Birth Certificate either obtain a passport or a "official" id form.

One problem she might have is the airlines.  If she is flying to Mexico many airlines will not even let her get in the plane without a passport.  Again if she goes to consulate before the ID will help her with this possible problem.

Next, she will have to prove her Mexican nationality to her embassy or diplomatic mission and get a passport or travel document that allows her to enter Mexico as a citizen.

This can be a time consuming and expensive affair and could have unpleasant repurcussions in her current country of residence as well as Mexico.

No...not to travel by land. He would not be allowed on an international flight without a passport. He will need some proof of his mexican citizenship.

u dont need a passport but if u have any type of id from mexico like a matricula consular or something it helps, mexican officials are just looking for an excuse to extort money from you,if u dont have any thing dont worry just give them 10 dlls and tell them thats all u have
