Do you need a passport to go to tijuana for a day??

my friends and I are all planning on going to tijuana for a day next week and we are traveling from san diego to tijuana... any suggestions? Should we drive or take a bus? are there any buses available? Is it somewhat safe? Do we need a passport?? And we are all 19 and 20 but are traveling with one of my friend's younger brother that is17... will that be a problem??? Thanks =]

Why do you want to go to T.J.? when there are some really NICE places to go to besides that dirty, crime ridden town?

You don't need a passport... just a GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID of some kind

drive be with someone over 21 all have ur passports and ids ready lock ur doors have fun.

I really wouldnt be going around tijuana jus to wonder around. you might need to stick to revolution blvd. at night and in the day time you should really be fine traveling as a tourist to markets an such places. i would suggest driving rather than the bus but im really not to sure what your business in tj is so it depends. and you do not need a passport just make sure you have ur id's and you may wanna take ur birth certificates just in case but NO passport. they cant keep you in mexico if your an american citizen. other than that have fun in mexico and i really dont suggest not knowing what ur going to do there before you go.

Stick to Revolucion at night? That is the worst advice ever, go to La Plaza in order to avoid the chicanos, gangsters, and illiterate sailors that frequent the clubs at Revolucion. You don't need a passport to get to Tijuana but you will need either a passport or a proof of US citizenship(like a birth certificate and an official I.D.) when getting back into the U.S. Revolution is actually nicer during the day. Also I recommend parking your car at the all day parking right at the border behind the UETA Duty Free Store, and walking across and then taking a LIBRE cab to whatever place you like, if you guys get too wasted stay at Hotel Lucerna.
