Do you need a passport to re-enter to the us from mexico??

im going to mexico but dont have a passport, im a us citizen, someone said i need a passport, but my aunt said i dont, not until 09, someone who has recently gone to mexico please tell me!! thanks

Yes. If by air, you're supposed to have one.

You will Not be permitted to board your flight to Mexico without a passport.

Any other mode of transportation and you will have to satisfy I.N.S. of who you are Photo ID. and birth certificate will work until June 2009 and the every mode of transportation will require a passport
