  1. you dont specifically need a passport... any type of photographic identification is ok due to an agreement between the 2 islands... you can use a drivers licence, electoral card or a national id card... or a passport if you want

  2. we had 2 take passports and we travelled by coach an ferry, they werent asked 4, but just in case.

  3. only if you travel by plane, you need to show it as you board the plane but thats it. you dont need one at all if you travel by boat. you won't have to show it at all once your there unless you are getting plane back again then just show it as you board again

  4. No.

If you fly you need some form of photographic identification.  This could be a passport, a driving license, or a services identity card.

If you travel across on the ferry you don't need ID.

  5. It depends if u go in a aeroplane or ferry then u need a passport but if u go in a car then u dont i dont think unless to enter ireland u have to show a passport soz i dont really knw much
