  1. Not yet.  It is scheduled to change next summer, to passport only.  But right now if you don't fly you can use your drivers license along with your birth certificate.  You need both.

  2. No you do not need a passport to come to Canada.  As stated, you need proof of citizenship and government photo ID (ie: driver's licence)

There is a major misconception about the current and proposed passport regulations.  Even now, and again in June 2009 you will not be required by Canadian authorities to show a valid passport to enter Canada.  Our rules have not changed.  Proof of citizenship/govenment photo ID are all that is/will be (unless they change it) required.

The passport requirement is a US requirement.  If you are flying you will need to show a valid passport at the airport or the airline will not board you on the flight.  You will need to again show that passport to get back across the border.

So the accurate answer to the question is and will be - no you do not need a passport to enter Canada but you do and will need a passport to leave/enter the United States.

  3. i agree with the girl below!! just in case bring your passport and birth certificate

  4. By plane, yes. By car no, just your drivers license and your birth certificate.

  5. Actually you do, the law has taken affect several months ago by Bush and Tighter borders.

  6. If you are flying, yes.

If you are traveling by car, no. You will need a birth certificate and govern\ment issued photo ID, such as your drivers license.
