Do you need a permit to own a robo hamster?

I asked a question about how much robo hamsters were and she said you had to get a permit and buy the hamster is that true?

I have seen them for sale at local pet stores and I don't think you need a permit.  I called one store about a sugar glider and they said you need a permit for those.

Only certain states and countrys do. I wasn't aware of it myself until the petstore lady told me that you did that was in new jersy i know many states do not require it. The petstore assistant will give you one if you do need so don't worry.

EDIT~You only need a permit in New Jersey(exotic pet licence) and California. So its a licence not really a permit. They are considered exotic animals. No need to get permit to rear a robo hamster because it ia pet. But you need a lot of info about hamster rearing. So make sure how to rear a hamster efficiently.
