Do you need a tourist visa to travel to the US from Liberia or can you just use a passport?

My husbands brother wants to visit us from Liberia and we need to know if he needs to get a tourist visa or if he can just travel with his Liberian passport. He is a Liberian citizen.

  1. If Youre Husbands Brother is a Citizen of Liberia he will need a visa to enter the USA.If he is coming for a Tourist/Family Visit he will need whats called a B-1/B-2 Visa

    For this he will need to Go to the US embassy in the capital Monrivia

    Each applicant for a temporary worker visa must pay a nonrefundable US$131 application fee and submit:

    An application Form DS-156, completed and signed. Blank forms are available without charge at all U.S. consular offices

    A passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond the applicant's intended period of stay in the United States. If more than one person is included in the passport, each person desiring a visa must make an application

    One (1) 2x2 photograph. See the required photo format explained in nonimmigrant photograph requirements.

    and Proof of ties to Liberia such as

    House deeds,Bank accounts,Car titles,If he is maried and has children to bring Marriage and Birth certifcates,Letter from his job,Hotel reservations or letter of invitaion
