  1. Citizens of the European Union, USA, Canada and some other countries are not required to obtain a visa for entry into Ukraine. They may stay in Ukraine up to 90 days in a 180-day period without obtaining a visa.

Belarus does require a visa for entry.  US citizens fees for visa to Belarus will cost from $100.00 for a transit visa up to $350.00 for a long term, multiple entry visa.

You may find further information from these sources, maintained by the prospective countries official agencies.

  2. A US citizen does not need a visa to enter Ukraine for up to 90 days.

A US citizen needs a visa to enter Belarus, and here are the fees and applications: http://www.belarusembassy.org/

  3. Yes you certainly do need a visa to enter Belarus - Belarus is notorious for requiring passengers on the Warsaw - Moscow trains to have transit visas.

Assuming you're in the UK, see the site of the Belarus Embassy Consular & Visa Section here --> http://uk.belembassy.org/cons-visainfo.h... <-- for details of how to get a visa (you need to include a voucher from a Belarus travel agency). A 30 day tourist visa issued in London costs £19 for single entry, £34 for double entry, or £49 for multiple entry (remember if you're travelling overland to Ukraine via Belarus and travelling back the same way, you'd need at least a double entry visa) - this is for their 5 business day processing service, if you want a visa within 48 hours it'll cost you £34, £64, and £94 respectively.

EU citizens (except Bulgarians and Romanians) have not needed a visa to enter Ukraine since 1st September 2005.

EDIT: Kevin's answer is interesting - if you compare the prices in the links to the Belarus embassy in the US to the ones to the embassy in the UK, you can see that visas are MUCH more expensive when issued in the US than in the UK.

  4. No visa needed for Ukraine is is really easy, just need your passport.

  5. It depends, if your travelling from the UK or anywhere in Europe then I don't think so as Belarus and Ukraine are also in Europe. But you will if your travelling from outside Europe.

  6. Any non CIS citizen traveling to CIS countries (EX Soviet Union Countries) needs a visa. It can be taken in embassy or at  the airport at arival, which is avilable only for US and EU citizens. So if you are non of them better go to embassy, to make sure you have a visa. You will need 2 different visas if you want to enter both countries. CIS visas are  25-50 Pound. Better ask at the embassy because each country has his own price.

    Best of luck

  7. If you travel from Russia into Belarus, they rarely check for Visa's nowadays. But any-other entry point, you need one and they are not cheap.

No need for visa to Ukraine anymore.
