I was wondering if you absolutly need acting classes/acting school in order to audition for small to average roles on TV shows and movies.

If so, does anyone know what acting school Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, or Hilary Duff went to?

  1. I don't know what school they went to.

You do not need acting classes or acting school to audition, BUT you do need them in order to have a good chance of booking the job or at least auditioning well.

  3. you do need to take acting classes to give you more experience for your resume and so you can be more prepared for professional acting.

  4. Yes, to be a successful actor you need experience, classes are part of it.

  5. no you don't need it but it will help and give you experience and to your other question Miley Cyrus didn't go to an acting school and i don't know about Selena or Hilary

  6. no

  7. no, but it would really help your chances

  8. hmm idk but I don't think you would NEED one.

  9. Nope.  A lot of the time you need an agent, though.

  10. miley cyrus went to an acting school in toronto (CANADA) its called armstrong

  11. Here's the thing, if you haven't had any classes how do you know what you're doing?  You are going to be instantly hated by going in unprepared and wasting everyone's time.  I can almost guarantee that if you did get an audition with a legit CD and you went in unprepared, they would never call you in again.  They do keep files of these things.  Also, what you may think is a "small to average" role are roles currently being played by actors who probably are all in class and all have agents.  You need class and just because your favorite star went to a certain studio or teacher doesn't mean it would be the right place for you.  Do your own research, audit several classes, and find the classes that works for you.  No short cuts.

    good luck,

    Marianne

  12. No, but a lot of the time, acting classes can help set you apart from the rest, especially if you need to provide a resume of your work.

  13. No professional casting director will cast an inexperienced actor. Build you resume being extras in films or in just local things. There are acting classes geared toward TV and movies. Look into one in your city. But remember that it will cost money!
