  1. small area fine ,seedlings 2year old

    male/female plants

    ckeck nersurery

  2. They are supposed to planted 18 inches apart and they will come up every year so put them where you want them. Most plants that you buy are already two years old so you don't have that long of a wait. Get the male plants if possible they seemed to come around faster-- we have both in the garden though

  3. no, not really... you just need a good soil and know how to plant it!!! It may also take 1-4 years to get a good bed of it growing for you!!! but if you like it you may want to test out your green thumb on it!!!

  4. do not need a lot of room just time  there are many good books on container gardining. asparagus root is good for about 15 years.

  5. You don't need much room but it can take three years to establish an asparagus bed

  6. Neighbors grew asparagus when I was a kid.  They fertilized the bed with rabbit-droppings, because they said it needed a lot of nitrogen.

    Check the soil recommendations!

Note: 10 years after they quit fertilizing/ gardening, the asparagus still came up.  Only a few stalks a year, but it kept on coming.
