Do you need an FMT/ Mexican Tourist Card to visit Mexico if you enter the country by land?

I did my homework.

You only need a passport if you are traveling by air. It won't be a requirement until 2009.

I know you don't need a tourist card ( which is similar to a visa but given for a shorter amount of time) if you will only be in TJ for less than 72 hours but I want to know if its necessary for me to have it if I will be staying for about a month and a half and I am entering the country of Mexico by land.

    TWICE in one visit...

  3. nope, I just went not to lopg ago to TJ for a day and had nothing but my CA DL..

    doubble check with your local Police Dept or Border patroll, last thing you want is to be stuck over there, cus they dont check papers till you want back in.
