Do you need an agent to audition as an extra or you can just register yourself?

In major cities, there are actual agencies just for extras. These agencies usually have no experience required - it's a lot easier to get into these agencies and do some extra work :D

You can google "extras talent agency in (nearest major city here)" and contact them to see how to get into their agency!

i was an extra in the movie radio... about 6 years ago. HALF MY TOWN was an extra. ANYONE can do it. all you do is wear what they tell you to wear, some people have to go to hair &makeup... and do what the director tells you to do when he yells action. and it's really great too. they kept us up til 4 or 5 in the morning filming the football scenes, and they'd feed us all KINDS of great food. it was the middle of december so we were all freezing... and there was a huge tent full of food, and if we didn't have time to be in the tent and we hadda be outside, they took care of it. one evening, they brought kfc to everyone.

being an extra is sooo simple, and at 14... it was easy money.
