Do you need both a CBT and Pro-visonal license for a moped/scooter 50cc?

u can ride 50cc at 16 with cbt and provisional license in uk at 17 u need to upgrade your licence to cat a then cbt to ride anything over 50cc as this is classed as a motorcycle  go for it  its fun

yes you need both before you ride a 50cc scooter. to ride a scooter without the cbt would be really daft - you will learn how to be safe on the road and it could save your life. you dont need a scooter, the people conducting the cbt will provide one if you dont have one, they will also provide helmet, gloves and jacket - just let them know what you need and most training centres will help you out. You need both a provisional licence and a CBT to ride a 50cc machine on L plates on the road at 16 (this must be restricted to 30mph), at 17 you can ride a machine of up to 125cc with a maximum power output of 12.2bhp (again with L plates) - the CBT certificate (DL196) is valid for 2 years.

you need provisional and cbt which will allow you to ride up to 125 cc, anything above this will need full bike test, and you will need to put on l plates when riding the bike around.

you can take cbt on your own bike if taxed and insured, but you can't ride it to the test centre.

yes, you need to apply for your provisional licence which i think is £50 nowadays and could take up to 4 weeks!

you can use your own bike  or the training school

at 16 you can ride  50cc and then up toa  125 once you older than 17, he cbt lasts 2 years

to ride anything bigger you need to do you full bike test

do anything otherthan this is illegal!
