Do you need funds if traveling to the uk on british passport?

We are immigrating to the uk next year. i know for my ancestral visa i need about 2000 pounds in my account, my boyfriend can get a passport cuz his mother was born there, does he need funds to travel as well?

  2. Yes, he does.  If he cannot prove that he can support himself without recourse to public funds before he finds gainful employment, he will be denied entry.

  3. The previous two answers are wrong. If he has a British passport, he is a British citizen, and has just as much right to enter as any other British citizen, free of any kind of immigration control.

    It would literally be illegal for immigration officials to deny him entry, except if they have doubts about his true national status.

    The only possibility of running into any difficulty at all is if he is entitled to a passport, but doesn't physically have one. He needs to make sure that is sorted out before he arrives.
