Me and my two cousins are planning to move to florida to get an apartment and go to college there. We currently live with our parents in nyc. And there is no way in h**l we can afford a nyc apartment by ourselves. We checked orlando and the rents there are like sooooo cheap. I don't know why but here out parents pay like alot.. But anyway do we need our parents to co sign ? or what ?

  1. most places are just trying to do a background to make sure they aren't moving in criminals...As for credit check, a lot of people have bad or no credit, what they are looking for is evictions or litigation from previous landlords or rental agencies...If you aren't a criminal with a Felony and don't have any evictions you're good to go in most cases..

As for the cheap rent, it's not so much that rent here is cheap, as it is way overpriced in NY...

  2. I moved from Florida to North Dakota last year, so I'm not sure who I could contact to help you. Here is a resource of apartments in Florida that you can call. http://www.findanapartmentonline.com/Flo... Hopefully someone can help you.

    Enjoy Florida!

  3. All applicants would have to meet the landlords or managements criteria in order to qualify.

If one of you do not meet the criteria, all joint applicants are denied.

If the landlord or management requests a co-signer in order to qualify, then you will need one.

Every rental has their own criteria, so there is no blanket answer.
