  1. I am from Lucca and I beg your pardon for my English.

Lucca is a small town  but contains  a lot of history  that you can "smell" walking in the narrow streets: There are  many many Churches ( They called it the town of one hundred churches) and many other monuments from roman age , medieval an renascent. In Lucca you can find good accommodation  and The food is very good. One thing  you can't lost is the visit of the numerous villas in the surrounding among them is the Villa Reale of Marlia. Remember that Lucca kept its Independence from  The Tuscany Ducat till the arrival of Napoleon. In response of your question two night are enough but three are better. Ciao.

  2. I spent an afternoon there...its a little town really....small enough to have a wall surrounding it (old defensive wall)...I just meandered the streets.....although I admit I am pretty quick about seeing things (quantity not quality) .  There are a couple of nice churchs (with amazing designs outside), there is a market (selling what they do at them eg cheap watches, clothes, shoes etc) and a Roman amphitheatre...a oval surrounded by houses which is nice....the buildings are lovely (its kind of like a mini florence).

so it depends on if you want a couple of days of tranquil (compared to some other places) to meader or a day.....

  3. Two will be better, just to get more from beautiful town.

Here is some info about Lucca:

  4. You need at least one full day, which means 2 nights. A very charming little city. Also a good location too see Pisa, which would mean a 3rd night
